Something wrong with the NEF or Marlin servers?
« on: January 10, 2008, 02:43:31 PM »
Does anyone know if the NEF or Marlin websites are down?  Wanted to look on the NEF site and my screen just sits there after I hit "return."

Tried going to Marlin, same thing.

Have no trouble navigating around to other sites, and had no trouble logging onto Graybeard's, so I think my server is okay.

Has anyone else had these troubles too trying to get on the NEF website?  Thanks!

I am having occasional trouble with this site being very slooooow and sometimes not loading, but regarding the NEF and Marlin sites,IIRC this happened last year about this time also, perhaps updating their websites?....<><....:)

Just tried this one: http://www.hr1871.com/

And this one: http://www.marlinfirearms.com/

They all came up OK.

I had trouble getting H&R's site to come up this afternoon too, but it seems to be loading ok, albeit a bit slow now.

GBO will continue to be slow at peak usage times until the new server is online, maybe by next week according to Bill, but it's up to Matt to spend some serious time on the data transfer before it happens.

As an update on the comments I've made the last couple days on our situation it looks like the deal with the potential new advertiser will have to be rejected by us. It sounded good until they sent us a contract and neither Matt and I are willing to accept the terms of it. I'll discuss it tomorrow with their VP but I don't see him making the changes we require so it appears the delay for that was just wasted time.

I'll talk to Matt again tomorrow but will trip to get him to move us to the new servers this weekend if he can make the time in his work schedule.

Looks like H&R's site is down for maintenance now, maybe to fix what was wrong yesterday, it got hacked, or they're making more updates, I see Marlin has their bolt gun on the site now, but I haven't checked it for a week or so.
