« on: January 11, 2008, 02:03:41 AM »
Yeppers, heard thru the grapevine around the campstove last nite that ol Boggy finally met his fate in the rat swamp.    Guess the ol fart lost his way and curled up on top of a rat house and expired.   Got to be true as havent heard  rat hide nor rat hair   of him in a coons age!    :-[

Phewwwww,  Asa can you imagine  those old wet feet of Bogs???  Why i bet they smelled worse than a old yote hide!  All those years walking around with leaky  waders with swamp water squishing between his toes.. ... Aargh ugly -smelly  image.   Asa you think the eagles will take care of  Bogs ol carcass?    The turkey vultures are down south now and wont return till early spring!   Guess i will go and flesh a few rats in Bogs memory.... even if smelly   :o

Lee,I actually expect to be found some time ,expired on a rat house.
Mike and I have discussed this point at length. If one of us bites the dust while on the line, and a canoe isn't there for easy transport--just go on out and let the authorities deal with it.
This discussion usually takes place after a particularly strenuous situation. I expect at some point, the old heart will say to heck with this .A few falls through the ice,or wading waist deep or more in mud seems to spark this conversation.
Pushing things to the limit physically, especially the older we get--- increases the likelyhood of this happening.

Tom
I like to think of the dying on the trap line, hunting, fishing what ever, better than at work or some stinking nursing home. Be like the old Merel Haggard song (Ramblin Fever) where he says "Die along the highway and rot away like some old high line pole"  Seeing what I've seen at work I'm not to sure most of us get to pick where we bite the big one.

Yeppers Mac, ol mother earth doesnt  care where or when.  I remember a trapper that was found dead on top of one of his fox sets.  Doing  what he loved and mother earth recieved him then and there!
