How bad of a kick would one off these have,i know the gun is light and 30/06 can kick ,anyone have one that can tell about it?
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

I have a ruger 77 mk 2 ultralite , came with the boattail stock. in 30 -06 , used to dread shooting it till I changed the stock to an aftermarket bell and carson. The stock is not much heavier , but the design sure helps .  It don't bruise my shoulder like it once did. On the win Have not shot that model, but a limbsaver would tame , guarenteed.

The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight isn't very much lighter than a standard Model 70 Sporter and about the same as the Model 70 Carbine.

The barrel contour is slightly lighter, and the stock shaped differently, but since the design is "correct", it handles recoil very well.

I've had both push feed & claw CRF Classic Featherweights in .30-06, and also another CRF Classic in 6.5x55 Swede - and they all feel just about equal IMHO.

Not sure how much worse the 30.06 is than 308 but I had a FWT 70 in 308 and loved that rifle, at the time that was the largest caliber I owned. Recoil was not bad at all.
