Lee Dies inexpensive till you have to fix em?
« on: June 29, 2003, 12:14:45 PM »
I have a buddy who uses Lee Dies.  The other day he forgot to lower the ram on his Lyman Turret  reloader and bent the pin on his collet die.  Unlike my RCBS dies where you just change the decap pin, when he took the die apart the pin was a permanent part of the resizer   .  So now he has to order the insides to replace a pin.  What kind of a deal is this?? Is he missing something? :?

I did the same thint a few years ago.  I called Lee and they sent me a new decapping pin out in the mail that day.  I got in in about 3 days and there was no charge.  I use lots of Lee stuff and they have always been great to work with.

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.

I second that remark.  I have tons of Lee equipment, but have only had 2 issues, both MY fault.  However, I've always recieved PROMPT and EXCELLENT service, and have not been charged a penny yet.

I saw something recently where Lee will sell you a new expander ball to
retrofit old models for $3 plus $3 shipping.

Thanks guys, this is good info.  I will let him know.  This is the one fault of the turret press reloaders. . . operator malfunction. :-D  Since I did it, I really have to laugh when someone else "modifies" their decapper pin the same way. :)
