That looks like one sweet setup! I'm not familiar with them, but is that like an aftermarket-type bull barrel on it?

Cool looking setup. What load will you use for bears? I'm interested in what speeds you can get in that thing, how much speed do you lose over a 24" barrel, and what type of recoil that puppy has. :eek:

The load I'll be using this year is going to be 150gr XLC BT pushed to 2800+fps or a 180gr Core-lock at 2720fps

I chrono'd it not to long ago here it is....

130's=3012
150's=2818
180's=2686 *Note*Factory Rem Core-lock's =2720fps
200's=2473*Note* Hold on to this one... it hurts

I have been working on a load using a 165gr XLC BT velocity so far is 2702fps with a MAX spred of only 12.The same load out of my Dads 24.5" 300mag rifle is 3000fps that's only 300+/-fps than his rifle.
