Limbsaver # 10018 recoil pad

I installed my Limbsaver recoil pad, #10018, on my synthetic 45-70 Handi tonight.  It is a perfect fit with no overhang.  I'll report back as soon as I have a chance to shoot it.

That's what I was afraid of, them and direct from Limbsaver were the only two sources I found. Hopefully they'll become more readily available in time.

I was wondering .... do you think a Limbsaver pad would make enough difference to warrant the cost on a 25-06 handi compared to the factory pad. I know they say that they are lighter than alot of rifles on the recoil scale but I am recoil shy. I dont know when i developed the shyness/flinch but it didnt help me much whne i shot my buddy's Marlin 45/70 guide gun and started bleeding. Just wondering what yalls thoughts/experiences were. I'd try a neoprene cartridge holder on the butt stock with a little extra foam under it on top of the comb, a lot of the perceived recoil is thru your face, the 25-06 doesn't have much recoil in comparison to a 45-70.

Yea Quick i thought about putting some soft foam under my shell holder mine is....ummmm I guess a spandex or Lycra or whatever they call it. I may try that ... but what Ii am gathering is you do not think that i would see that big of a difference versus the factory pad.

The factory pad is a brick compared to a Limbsaver, so yes, it would be better.
