Thanks dancoman
Thats what I wanted to hear as I really like the cosmetic look of the 28" fluted barrel. Now I can add one to the young collection!
To each his own but why go for a long whippy barrel in a varmit cal.?
Try the short stout ones for the best in accuracy. But, too each his own. My guess is the pro-Hunter barrels will become a thing of the past sooner than later. Been wrong before though.
Probably a lot later than sooner. I now have 3 PH barrels that shoot under 2'' at 300 yrds (actually 2 are under 1 1/2'') , this is an all fac set-up except for a new trigger spring in one frame., including factory ammo. Not only are these barrels accurate but with this being a market driven industry and just about every TV hunter shootin one I don't see them goin away any time soon. QC would really have to slip. And even if you like long or short or in between we most all agree that TC is a great Co. to associate with.
Encore58, not wanting to start a wee weeing contest , but seems to me most bench shooters are using at least 28'' tubes. This has to be for a reason. I know we are talkin huntin here but accuracy is accuracy. Even with the 28'' pro hunter barrels the OAL of the rifle is still shorter than some of my bolts with 22'' barrels.
As you said "too each his own". And only time will tell if you willl be wrong AGAIN.
And just for the record, it happens to the best of us.
