  What county are you in?

I have. I scouted and hunted hard last spring for these wild hogs, and was lucky enough to see things pay off when I came upon a sounder of about 20 of them at dusk one night. I killed 2 of them before the rest of 'em hauled axx for the next county. I'm a bit hesitant to give out my local, as I have spent countless hours researching info, talking to biologists in the know, and knocking on farmers doors to obtain permision to hunt the right lands.

More scouting

The payoff. This boar dressed out at 110 pounds.

that is one small pocket.  what about the other pockets?  nothing, nothing, and more nothing.

some guys here on the hog hunting forums kill more than.  the entire dnr manages to catch 24? after how many years?

besides,  there is a creature more  hated than pigs in wisconsin,  and that is a pig hunter.   crawford county is all private, and no one is gonna give you permission to hunt their land.  all the whining and crying is just a ruse to get money from the government in crop damages.   truth be told they like the hogs down there.

Does anybody think that if these wild pigs get to any kind of a population that the DNR will let you hunt them for free? If CWD ever does most of the deer herd in, something will have to replace the void. Nice looking boar by the way, really looks like a wild  one.

No.

I think the reason the DNR requires hunters to purchase the small game licence, is so that kids under 12 can't hunt unless passing a hunters safety program. Liability issues. Just my opinion though.

We're not getting much encouragement to hunt pigs here in Wisconsin.  But just wait until pig hunters pay more than crop damage.  Pig hunting will be the sport of kings then.

I live 100 miles north of Eau Claire and I've never seen any evidence of wild pigs here.  We still have plenty of wolves though.  The DNR should relocate some to Dane county where they could solve  both the CWD problem AND the crooked politician problem.

Where Feral hogs are located they do a lot of damage.

I hope to do some wild hog hunting in a county near me.

I'll probably use the old 243/06 Wildcat on them with 100-gr bonded bullets.

OK, I want to hunt feral pigs in Polk county this weekend.  Where do I go?  Are they on public land?

Polk county?  Try the northeast corner.  There are tens of thousands of them there.  Trouble is, they are small.  Really small.  You could fit ten of them on the head of a pin.  Mostly you can't even see them.

I charge a very small fee for you to hunt them.  Just send me $5.00 and I'll send you a permit.  You can shoot up to 3 on that one permit.

Eventually I hope to sell enough permits to afford a REAL pig hunt at HOGWILD up by Escanaba.   That might be an easier way to get a pig than trying to find one in Wisconsin.

I hear yah Jcn, I didn't think they were that big of a problem.  I have several hundred acres in Burnett County, and I'm with you on the wolf population.  Where the heck did all of the deer go?  Got a bunch of Coyotes too.  We were crawling with deer the last couple of years, and now hardly nothing.  The DNR is handing our doe permits like candy for deer that do not even exist....  They may as well throw the permits off of their float for free at the annual 4th of July parade.
