HEY YOU ANTIQUE BUFFS

Any of you all old enough and been usin' air rifles long enough to remember the Winchester/Wester bb's ?  Well here's the question......
way back when they use to put them up in little 1 lb. cloth sacks,  were those lead or copper?
I've picked up a coupleof the tubes off the auction sites that have copper ones in them, but I have a couple of the cloth sacks and was wondering what variety they used to contain.  Thanks in advance for the help.
Temper is a quality that at a critical moment brings out the best in steel and the worst in people.
