Thanks for the feedback, guys. I bought mine in 1970 and it has a metal butt plate, and a pretty walnut stock. A friend wants rid of her 10/22 (no good reason why, except that she's a hardcore Democrat. That tells me the Dems are going to make another run on our guns when they win the election!). It's been shot some, but mostly it's laid around on a shelf for years. No rust, very few scratches in wood. This one is obviously much newer than mine.
