Need tang sight help

I am thinking about installing a tang sight on my H&R Springfield Carbine (45-70).  I'd appreciate any suggestions as to brand, experience, performance etc.  Also, you don't see tang sights on the Carbine often......why not?

Just my 2 cents guy ,but most carbines didn't have a tang.
The barrel was to short to get a good sight radius.
If you want a good carbine sight ,go to the Rifle smith in Montana ,or Dillon has a nice barrel sight also.
On my carbine i use the semi buck horn Ladder sight.

Not sure why the carbine would not have a tang.

VTI offers a tang sight for the trapdoor.

Look under Pedersoli, trapdoor, officers model.

I mounted something similar on my 50-70.  What a riot to shoot!

Some of the original target model TD's had tang sights.

I am sure they do ,The 1886 i have is drilled and taped for one as is the Sharps saddle man.
I just did better with the barrel sights.
A carbine for hunting is a short range gun ,the tang seemed to get in the way for a quick target acquisition .
