Interesting review of new artillery book
« on: January 23, 2008, 01:01:01 AM »
This new book isn't available yet but it will be soon.  I learned a lot from just reading the review.  The reviewer, Kevin Kiley, wrote what I think is a great book with a similar title, his being ARTILLERY OF THE NAPOLEONIC WARS, 1792-1815, Stackpole, Harrisburg, 2004.  I have the Kiley book and would recommend it to anyone interested in artillery of that period.

Sorry the discussion of the review that I linked was deleted from the site I linked to.  The reviewer was very critical of the book, citing numerous errors and undocumented statements.

So the reviewer was a competitive author?   ;D

Correct.  That's probably what raised questions and caused the review to be pulled off of some sites.

canonmn, thanks for the info on the Kiley book.  I am always on the lookout for a new addition to my library.  After your posting I found a copy on Abebooks.com and have ordered it.  One can never have too many books or references.
