need a encore shortened who is the best to contact

hello all

i need to know whom would be the best person or company to send my SS encore barrel to and have it shortened too 20"

i have never had a barrel shortened and have no clue to who does a good job

any help would be great

I had Fox Ridge Outfitters shorten a 15" to 12" and install a muzzle tamer........excellent work.  Highly recommend them !

According to the price list posted on SSK's web site its $50 + return shipping to cut and recrown your barrel.

SSK would be a good one to use.  You might also consider T/C especially if you want a muzzle tamer installed since that might be a bit cheaper.

Fox Ridge charged me $80....that was for cutting a 15" to 12",adding a Muzzle tamer, and mounting a 6 hole TSOB scope mount.....mount only, no rings.  Real nice job, !

Both TC and SSK do good, quick work in this arena. I prefer the crowns cut by SSK, however, as they are exceptionally concentric.

While I agree SSK, TC and most other custom barrel makers would do an excellent job, any local gunsmith or even machinist worth his salt should also be able to cut and re-crown the barrel to your specs no problem.     They might even be cheaper, and you'd save the extra cost and time of shipping both ways.    Just a possible alternative, but IMO its not a modification that requires a TC smith, barrel maker or even a gunsmith.
