Makarov PM is it legal??
« on: January 23, 2008, 06:26:57 AM »
???   I was asked by a friend who is in need of cash if I'd like to purchase a souvenier he brought back from his first vacation in Iraq (first time)   . i believe it is a PM really good condition still has markings on it in paint marker, what must've been some sort of ID #.    question is.. are there any legal problems.  do firearms have to be registered somehow when brought in to US?  in KY if that matters

The military person violated Federal law in bringing back a firearm from a war zone.

As long as the gun is legal for civilian ownership you can own it.  Excluded are full automatic or selective fire weapons, destructive devices, etc.

Maybe, maybe not, you can always ask for permission to bring back a weapon an quite often it is o.k.ed
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten
