BC Stocks Installed On The .357 Handi
« on: January 26, 2008, 03:24:29 PM »
I recently bought some BC stocks from Justshootin and installed them on my .357 Magnum Handi.
I love the look. I can't wait to hunt with this next season. It will see plenty of
range time until then. It shoulders real nice now, too.

Coming from the other direction I added a 357 barrel to my BC Carbine.  Most of my shooting is at a local indoor 50' range and the rifle is quieter than my 4 5/8 Blackhawk.  I like how you have the sights set up on your rifle, what peep sight are you using on your 357 Carbine.  I'm still using the original factory rear sight on mine and have to have it at max elevation to hit point of aim at 50'.

The peep sight I'm using on it is the Williams WGRS that I bought from H&R. It
worked out perfectly with the front sight that came on the .357. Right now
it's zeroed for Federal 180 grain Power Shok's at 70 yards and the peep sight
is 3/4's of the way up the ramp. With 158 grain loads the ramp is right in the middle.

I highly recommend the .357 to anyone. It's a must have barrel for the Handi Rifle.
158 grain .38's hit to almost the same POI as 158 grain .357's so practice is very cheap.
148 grain .38 target wadcutters are very accurate out of this gun and just as quiet as a .22 LR.
I'm sold on the  BC stocks, they look and feel great. Thanks again Grant.

I also have a 28 gauge barrel for this receiver and it looks great with the BC stocks.
It will be a cool Partridge gun this fall along with being a cool deer rifle.

Doublebass73,

Thanks for getting back, Monday I plan on ordering a peep sight for my .357.  Spent the afternoon at the range trying out my 357 Carbine at the range with 180gr 357 loads form the Speer #10 Manual.

Thanks,
WildWeasel

That's exactly the handi rifle I'd like to get.  I wish the offered it like that instead of having to buy the stocks and barrel separate.

Very nice!

 Double ,

Me and my missus agreed that your little 357 BC is a hot looking number ... Though I suspect when i finally get a BC she'll be hounding me to put my stock on here 357 mag handi ... So you kinda stink double :P

Just kidding of course hehe . . Again great looking rifle , And yeah Tim that 45lc is nice too ...Have considered it due to my Uberti rifle and SAA not being built to handle some of the serious hard hitter reloads (buffalo bore offerings) ...
Double be sure to let us know how she shoots with the new stocks ..Went the the range on the 2/3/08 with my first batch of reloads in 357  140 gr XTP over some HP38 and she shot her best three shot group @ 50 being .285
and another group just a wee bit bigger ...Do let us know how she shoots

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I haven't been to the range yet with the new stocks (lots of snow around here
plus I've been sick for over a week now.) I'll give a report as soon as I can.

But I want it to have a 0.357" hole!

They must be selling a tone of 357 mag barrels because I'm reading about them on other forums too.
