Need some help on a Encore SSK barrel forend. Recently acquired a SSK barrel 15 inch-300 whisper. Hole spacing on barrel for forend is only 2+ 9/16 inch apart. All my other Encore barrels have holes much further apart and none of my forends will fit. Do you have to use a SSK hanger bar or

?. Anybody have a forend that will fit or do I have to go to SSK. Thanks Ed

PROBLEM SOLVED. SSK barrel had pistol hole spacing for forend and all my other custom barrels 15 inch barrels had rifle hole spacing for forend.

Call SSK. My SSK 375JDJ uses the same forend. Now I have to ask. Are you trying to put a Contender forend on an Encore? I tried that once, but only once. :oops: I found it real hard to believe that TC would hole them different. :eek: Why couldn't they just space the holes the same? They could have standardized either the frame or the wood. I guess that's I'm a shooter and not a designer! :shock: Why make the TC guys the only happy bunch in the target world?

No I have 2 other encores that have 15 inch barrels and a 26 inch barrel and the forends interchange on all of them. They are all either custom Eabco or TC custom shop barrels. I guess I will have to contact SSK.

I have a 15 inch 6.5 MD JDJ and a 12 inch 35-06JDJ for the Encore and the standard forend that came with the Encore frame fits both. Give JD a call.

I got a forend from ED's contenders. Apparently all my other custom 15 inch barrels were made with the hole spacing for the rifle forend. SSK barrel had pistol forend spacing on attachment holes. Thanks everyone for your input. Ed
