Suggested Loads for 45LC?

Does anybody have a suggested load for the 45LC?  I will be using it in a 10" 45/410 barrel for my Contender and a Blackhawk with a 5 1/2" barrel.  Supplies I have on hand are HS-6 and AA#5 powder and Sierra 240 gr and Hornady 230 gr XTP bullets.

I've got no suggestions for these two powders and bullets, other than what you might find in the loading manuals.  If you want maximum performance from the .45 Colt, you'll have to use different powders like H110/WW296, IMR or H4227, Lil'Gun,  AA#9, and the like.  Most data providers have data for the Rugers and T/C's that are seperate from general data for the .45 Colt.  Check out the websites for the powder mfg's and you'll come up with what you're looking for.  If you're going to shoot magnum level .45 Colt loads, don't forget the large pistol magnum primers. www.hodgdon.com,  www.accuratearms.com, www.alliantpowder.com, www.imrpowder.com, etc, etc.

kciH has told you all you need to know..just some experience from my side..My 14" likes the heavy boys...300 grainers shoot the best so far (they are the heaviest I have tried).  250 Grainers tend to shoot pattern in my Contender,but do very well in my 71/2" Bisley Blackhawk..the Speer 260 Jacket Soft point shoot okay in both..but the Contender really shines with the 300 Grain XTP and the Lee Hand poured bullets.

i have a 5 1/2"blackhawk. it likes 250gr.xtp's with w/19.5grs. of 2400--240gr. xtp's w/26grs. of w296---
