I just did get my first Fed Tax permit [$200 gone quickly] for a 22LR [TAC 65] suppressor. It is on my Ruger 10/22 heavy [Shilen] barrel.
I HAVE a Handi in 357 mag and it is possibly the next rifle to get threaded if and when I can afford another suppressor and tax stamp. When I saw a .357 mag w/Laminated green/blond straight grip stock I thought about all the 38 Spl ammo I have and nothing to shoot it out of [sold all 38/357 pistols]. As an exerminating company owner I am investigating if permits are available for coyote nuisance animal control using this very rifle. If I can, the Handi will get threaded!
Almost all 38 Spl ammo will be subsonic. I mounted a Leupold 2.5-8X matt on my rifle [ok, so the scope is 3X the rifle cost] and it is a great shooter with good accuracy. I think I may have a long throat but it doesn't seem to matter. I would like to find a good heavy bullet load [250 gr ??] out of a 357 Mag case.
I've owned a half dozen or more Handi rifles, sold them all. Then I find this 357 Mag 2 years ago and had to have it. It is one FUN rifle. I may use it for deer if I get the urge -before it gets threaded of course. I enjoy and have owned many 35 cal rifles and this one is no exception. It is one fun gun.
I do think about the new thumbhole stock I see offered though. The factory origional straight grip is not the best for scope to eye alignment.
Great pictures.
