My brother in law has been looking for a nice .22lr for plinking/small game.
Being the pawn shop junky that I am, I took him out to show him the ropes two days ago. One of the shop owners (who knows me) called me into the back to show me a nice Glenfield Model 60 he was putting out on the floor a bit later. We gave it a thorough look and my brother in law decided THAT was the rifle. It's the older model with no bolt hold-open and the longer tube magazine. Squirrel impression on the stock. I swear I've seen used rifles that look in worse condition that this one. It couldn't have been shot more than once or twice....too pretty.
Anyhoo,
The shop-keep told me I could have it for $65, but I couldn't pick it up until the next day (and there was still a VERY slight chance the P/O would come in and re-loan). As luck would have it, the P/O didn't pay the interest and we got a nice Model 60 for a fair price yesterday afternoon.
A local sporting goods shop is having an inventory reduction with 20% off the ENTIRE stock. We picked up 5 bricks of CCI Blazer (2,500 rounds), a new case, and a cleaning kit.
Total investment, $128 after tax. I think we did great considering the amount of extras we got.
I'll try and snap a pick next time I see him.
Sorry if I wasted your time...just wanted to share my little story. Enjoy the day!
