Puma '92 Question??

I just recently bought a (Rossi) Puma 1892 winchester copy in a 44 mag. I put a big loop lever on it like i have done with the rest of my lever rifles. But the problem is when i twirl it (with blanks of course!!!) the bullet comes out of the gun where it ejects. But The actual brass part itself stays in the gun, its just that its pointed straight up out of the gun. Any answers or ideas, or reasons?? I thought it might have been cause of the heavy bullet im shooting making it want to turn upward?? Ive owned a actual winchester 357 and i twirled it just and the bullet chambered just fine. Any help???

I'm wondering how if you're shooting blanks, what do you mean that the heavy bullet may be causing the problem.  When the 92 feeds. there is nothing but gravity to hold the cartridge down as it leaves the magazine tube and is brought up by the lifter.

Thankfully, Chuck died of pheumonia precipitated by lung cancer rather than mishandling firearms.  Aglass, you will continue to sling rounds out forever unless you do the same thing that Rod Reddwing did for Mr. Connors- fit a sping loaded plunger above the chamber to hold the nose of upcoming rounds while the action is open.  Simple.

I was thinking of an actor, Jon-Erik Hexum, who shot himself in the head with a .44 Magnum filled with blanks.  Check out this URL: http://urbansemiotic.com/2006/01/22/the-sad-lesson-of-jon-erik-hexum/.  Even with a rose-crimped blank, there are incandescent gasses coming out of the muzzle at several thousand feet per second.  As for the blanks that Conner probably used, there was a blank called the 5-in-1 blank, which would work in a .38-40 rifle or pistol, .44-40 rifle or pistol, or .45 Colt.
