One of the guys I sheet shoot with has a Baikel shotgun that he bought quite cheaply. It seems to shoot well and he breaks as many birds as usual. The gun is obviously in expensive so we don't know how well it will hold up to sustained shooting of skeet or clays. One thing that might help insure longer life is to use a good quality gun grease on the hinge pin and sides of the breech along with any other areas of wear. I do this religously on all my o/u's and they are all still tight after tens of thouseand of rounds. The Bailel is obviously made to be inexpensive and go for the o/u market. The fit and finish is ok on the one I looked at, I am not crazy for the looks of the receiver though, but then too, I have seen a couple of Perazzi's that didn't excite me either. My buddy has not torn it down yet or removed the stock to get a look inside. We both suspect that the internal workings will be rough and of less quality of finish than say a Browning. But again, with luck "you get what you pay for" and sometimes you are pleasently surprised. Good luck with it and keep the world posted on how well it works.
