Not this old, but didn't the Lone Ranger broadcast on AM station WXYZ in 1933?  If memory serves correctly the radio station was located in Detroit......

sdb you right on and you win the distinction of being an old fellar right along with Tom.    Course i think im getting older also as put snomo in three times in river  checking bvr traps... water went down and air under ice... Third time and i said nuff-- getting too old to pry snomo skis up on top of ice and pulling sled out of water.... Used snow shoes after that. WHeez-wheez!   ;D
