Henry receiver question

On this board and others I have seen reference to the "receiver cover" on the Henry rifles. I assume this is a cosmetic sheet metal cover over the receiver that is replaceable. Is this correct? This type of design leads me to think of the Henry's as a somewhat of a cheap build. Maybe I shouldn't judge them without having had one in my hands, but I would like to get the story on this before I get myself too worked up about buying one. Other than this question they look like quality firearms. Are all models including the center-fires of this same design with the receiver cover being part of the rifle? Thanks for any input you can give me here.

I have heard guys describe this action or that action as butter smooth.  Most of the time I thought there some bread crumbs in the action with it hanging up a little here or there.
After shooting a buddies Henry I now understand butter smooth.  Maybe there should be another term for how smooth and fluid the Henry action is.  I don't remember hearing the clicks and clanks associated with other lever guns.
One is on my list of guns I want but about fourth on the list.  I refuse to shoot other Henry's so I don't move it up on the list or start selling items to get it.  Then comes the big question of 22 LR, 17 HMR or 22 Mag?

The receiver is brass plated. They defiantly aren't cheap with guns that cost $800+. Actions are very smooth and it is one of the best lever guns on the market today.

They are very smooth. I own the Big Boy in .44 mag and it is also very accurate, but I also own a number of Marlins and I can't say the Henry is a whole lot smoother.

No.

The only ones designed with the receiver cover are the Ithaca/Irma/Iver Johnson clone .22 rimfires & Yellow Boys.

The Big Boy centerfires are made of a brass-like material Henry calls Brasslite.

IIRC, the brassie sideplates are removeable, since factory custom engraved/personalized replacements are optional/available.
