I have a bunch of Fred's barrels - all but 2 now are wildcats. Simple fact, you won't get anything better for your TC in the shooting department by looking elsewhere, and his Woodsmith products are w-a-y too cheap for the quality you get.

Scope mount holes on all of mine are back where I want them. Fred, being the super conservative gent he is, doesn't like drilling holes over the chambers as a matter of course, regardless of caliber... but he will if you specify it and he knows you (and it sounds like you are a well established customer of his). As for the blue on the lugs... same answer as far as the consevative thing goes. Noone at Bullberry is allowed to do the lugs but Fred, a BIG safety thing to him, and he at times might overdue it to the point of some degrading of the blue at the welds. Safe is a lot more important than a little bluing I am sure you'll agree. I do on my collection of the bigger handcannons especially (some are SSK too). Delivery is a product of a lot of factors at Bullberry, many of them outside of Fred's control. As a long time personal friend who used to live there and hang out with Fred often (still do when we can - 2 hours away), let me just say he puts in some horendous hours most weeks/weekends in trying to fill a huge backlog of orders. As you know, his barrels and wood is well worth any wait, and why he is always backlogged.
