Dale,  both of them fit their intended application very well and it's all about personal preference.  For me, I really like the Sniper stock.

Dale,

I like the sniper stock personally.  I just recieved my .204 SPS Varmint this week.  I am going to be sighting it in within the next two weeks.

I will have to see how well the factory stock works for me, but you have chosen a nice option for your stock I think either one will work for you, but  I prefer the green sniper stock myself.  That rifle will be a heavy one for sure.

I'll be the odd man out and say I like the Varmint stock a tad more. Ya can't go wrong with either either one.

For the money I think they are both good stocks. They are both aluminum bedded. The Varmint weighs 4 pounds and I read somewhere that the Sniper is more like 6 pounds plus. That really does not matter much to me though. I don't walk around with it much when I Groundhog hunt. I just set up and wait for the little fellows to stick their heads out of the hole or come out of the high weeds. Dale

Dale don't you deer hunt with the .243 also? I like the OD Green Stock but if I deer hunt with it also then I would want the Varmint stock if it weighs less.

I hope to have a 308 VTR or a 308 SPS by this deer hunting season. As far as the color goes I am 99.9% sure you can get both in green or black. Dale

Another thing I would like to throw out there. Some of you may not like it but I plan on taking it to a body shop and having them paint it Pittsburgh Steeler gold. I am then going to find someone who does real good air brushing and have them air brush the Steeler emblem on it. Oh well those are my plans for it. Dale

Will you be shooting deer, paper targets, groundhogs, or extremely armed and dangerous escapees?

It will be my Groundhog rifle. I don't think they much care what color it is. Dale

Haha that sounds good as long as it isn't the Cowboy's.

The Sniper stock is quite a bit heavier than the varmint.  I like the varmint myself, I like the forearm better.  Honestly, I'd shop around and get the one you can get the best deal on.

Sorry Dale but I have to agree with raysandero on this one. I'm just more partial to laminated thumbhole stocks myself, or a nice piece of walnut. Good luck on your choice, and post some pics when the customizing is done.

I will post pictures when I get it together. I do realize that these stocks are not every ones cup of tea. If that were the case they would only make one stock for everyone. Dale
