I don't think so, Old Fart and Oldfart aren't the same user name, look at the date of the original post, Old Fart wasn't a member then, and his trade count is 100% positive.

The Grindle's have used a lot of different user names here and on other sites to do dishonest deals. How they have avoided jail so long is a mystery to me.

Seems like people with the smarts to pull of scams would just find it easier to do honest deals...and wouldn't get banned.

Not as profitable.

They are clever I give them that. They'll register on a site then make a few honest small deals to get some positive feedback then talk somone into a big deal with them. Some times they'll offer to sell something for several hundred dollars then not deliver and usually when they hit this stage they push several items at once or even sell the same nonexistent item to multiple folks.

They have also been known to convince folks to ship expensive items prior to payment which then of course never comes.

They've done all this here under a pile of different user names and IP addresses. Best to just remember the real name not the user name as it changes from time to time and site to site.

Sounds to me like they most likely chose the name Old Fart to deliberately be confused with Oldfart and play off his good standing. Karma has a way of paying people like them back. Hope it does so in Spades!

I dealt with them for a year allways fair deals and decent trades. He claims to be" the gun doctor"! Well THEN I sent him 4 rugers to repair and also sent him a rem 770 for his son" They totally ripped us off for everything.About $1500 worth couldn't find hide nor hair of them until now I will be calling the ATF&E on them. Impersonating a FFL dealer to commit theft maybe this will get rid of them.

He was using the name "smokingguns" on Castboolits as of november of last year.

There is a member here with the same name that registered in July, 2011 but they have no posts.

The mail fraud charge, not really. If it were a large amount, maybe. It has been shown time and time again on the different boards that the USPS will do nothing to these scammers. Many fellows have contacted the post master general and gotten no results, just a run around and it'll be checked into.
Paypal is your best form of protection from scammers. If a seller will not accept paypal, I will not trade with them. It just takes a few minutes to get it setup. If you use a check card or credit card as your paypal account you also have double protection from what ever company, such as visa.

This crook recently registered as contender villian and may have taken another victum for $100, not being the smartest crook in the world, he made the mistake of posting his name and address for payment which immediately looked familiar, this latest alias is banned and his ads have been removed.
