Cap promblems
« on: February 03, 2008, 05:34:33 AM »
Guys I have a traditions 209 muzzloader. I was trying to clean the gun and ended up braking the thing that holds the cap in. Here is my question. How much will it cost to buy one for my gun? Also My brother has the same gun but his problem is that when he lifts the gun or moves quick the cap falls out, which is a big problem because you have to worry about it falling out, its not broken it just like that. Could I spray something in it to stop having it fall out or something else I could do.

please reply

Knowing what traditions you have would be a  big help.

To me it sounds like an open breech  that uses a plunger striker.

Without seeing and just guessing you have probably lost the coil spring or even a part of the coil spring that goes around the nipple to hold the 209 in place.

Sounds like it is the cast part of the 2 peice breach plug if I am right? I don't own any Tradtions ML's so I am not too sure what your talking about.
The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind
