FA Recommended Prices

Hope you guys can put me on the right track.

I'm in South Africa and we don't have local FA dealers. I've located dealers who'll export to me from the US.

My question is where the FA's actually trade relative to the "recommended?" prices listed on the FA website. Are those pretty representative, or is the real market below that price (as is common on some other brands in guns and equipment)?

The prices listed on the Freedom Arms website are suggested retail, and are pretty much the going rate from a dealer.  The difference between dealer cost and retail is not as much as you may think.  I think the best you are going to find for a new gun is maybe 5% below what is on the web site.

Now if you are willing to settle for something slightly used, there are some real bargains to be found.

Both of my FA's were purchased in Alaska at 10% over dealer. Quite a bit below list.

I'm not opposed to 2nd hand at all - in fact the 2 FA's that I bought were 2nd hand. The difficulty is doing such a deal from 1000's of miles away when you can't look the gun over is a recipe for disappointment... and then there's the export process to arrange too...

Any recommendations on where to buy 2nd hand? I would have to go through a dealer.
