I've still got the very first rifle i ever owned, a marlin model 60, still shoots great for a $70 gun.  I also have an old 336 .30-30 and a 1894 .44 mag., you just can't go wrong with marlin quality. Thinkin' about getting me a .45-70 also ::)......christmas is awfully close ;D
Life's too short, buy more guns and hope you can find ammo to shoot them!

Just Marlin lever actions now.  Had a Marlin 90 12 ga. O/U once, but it was a bit rough.

Currently:
336 A -- .30-30, 1949, receiver sight, my silhouette rifle
336 SC -- .30-30, 1949, like my grandfather's deer rifle
94 -- .357, had a red dot sight on it when the kids were younger, fun rifle to shoot
39A -- 1950, receiver sight, my "best" .22
39 Article II, used a bit, Weaver K2.5 scope
39 Century Limited, not fired
56 -- .22, steel receiver, Bushnell 4x scope, not as good a trigger as the 39s, but an accurate rifle

I have 5 Marlin leverguns.

Model 336A- made in 1950(year I was born) in .35 rem. with a 24 in. barrel
Model 336- made in 1969 in 30-30
Model 336-made in 1979 in .35 rem. (my dad's gun)
Model 39A- made in 1979
Model 336 - made in 1977 in .444 Marlin

All of them are fitted with Lyman receiver sights except the 336A which has a Williams 5A.   That one is my favorite deer rifle. My .444 is the most accurate one.  I am a still hunter and love carrying my Marlins.

Gosh, let's see, four 336 in 30-30, three 336 in 35 Rem, one 444, four mod 60 in 22lr, one 25m in 22mag, one (don't remember mod number) in 17mach2.  I think that is all, I have sold about 6 different models in the last year, trying to cut down on all the unnecessary extra's.  Still need to cut some more.  I also have a dozen or so Winchesters in lever actions that need to go.  Wallacem in Georgia

I've got 4 Marlin X7 rifles and am probably going to buy more as I think they are the best bargain out there for a economical bolt action rifle that has many desireable features. They are very accurate, have a wonderful adjustable trigger, and the smoothest bolt action going, except for the Tikka T3 of course. You X7 fans and owners might be interested to know that Graybeard has started a forum in this website devoted to Marlin X7 fans. Look for it and participate.

I've got a 1996 made 1895SS 45/70 22" bbl. I topped it with a Weaver 2.5X in Leupold mounts. Also added a Decelerator pad, Murray Quik-Set sling, and slimmed the forend. My go-to whitetail gun inside 125 yds.

Sorry tt4617 Marlin does not make a .35 Whelen. I used a Marlin XL-7 for the base gun with an A&B ( shaw ) Barrel in heavy mag contour in 35 Whelen 1-14 twist 24 inches long. With a Boyd's Thumb hole stock. Dangerous Dan was nice enough to build it. :)

Sounds sweet Jester. I figured that it was something like that, but thought, if there is an XL7 in 35 Whelen, I am going out to check one out.

I've owned a marlin 94 in .44 mag for well over 25 years now before succuming to Marlinitis. I now have a 1895 GBL, 35 rem. 336 RC 1963 vintage and a 39a as well. I'm thinking a Texan is I'll be looking for next . :)
Take care, be good and do good things

I had 2 but My wife keeps hiding the 410 levergun and says it now belongs to her! She got away with it on a 38 special but not this time. Now if I can just figure out where she's hiding it ::)

Hello, Newbie here. Actually I am here looking to Identify my old reliable. It's a marlin 36, square bolt, walnut stock, serial number starts with a G though (suggesting that it is a 336 from 1950). On all my searches on the 336, all have the round bolt. Can anyone give me a little insight and understanding on what I have? No matter what, my rifle is the most beautiful thing I own. I love the look of the square bolt, and I love how it shoots.  ;D

I've gotten out of control with my Marlins. I've collected way too many. So now I am purging a good part of my collection. I'd list all of them I've had and have, but I need to leave some room for others to brag about their Marlins.

Just check out the classified ad "Marlin Collection" and you;ll have my list.

Thanks!
