Born and raised in Tupper Lake and boy do I miss it. Hang in there you'll find a 45-70 you will like I'm sure.

Hi Grizz and S.B., thanks for the kind words, I have shot a wide variety of rounds thru it....it likes them all. I shoot HSM Custom .457 mag., Buffalo Bore, Leverevolution and Garrett's Hammerhead...again not a single problem and all are on the mark. S.B., it was unlatched for no particular reason, I think I had just looked down the bore before the pics and just left it loose. It always latches tight with the bolt completely closed. It is the Co-Pilot and is a take-down, has a Leupold FX-II 2.5X28mm Scout scope.

Finally got around to taking some pics of my lever guns. They are top 1895GS(just got this last week), middle 1966 RC in .35 Remington and bottom is my Original Golden 39A.

SB, I noticed you peeped your .35Rem. What peep are you using? Are you using the factory front sight with that, if so how does it shoot?
The reason I ask is because I am thinking about peeping mine, I have a Williams FP-94/36 lying around and was curious if I'd have to change the front sight.

Factory front sight so far? Haven't shot it at any great distance yet. I put an old Redfield peep with an adjustable aperture (Merrit) on this gun, kind of bulky but, I like it and already had it down in the shop. Pretty sure I'll have to go with a taller front sight?

Here are my Marlins ...

Starting at the top ... Marlin 7000 .22lr , Marlin 1894 CBC .45 colt , Marlin 917V 17HMR , Marlin 336CS 30-30 , and my latest addition a Marlin MR-7 .270 ...

A family photo that I am very happy with ... I am looking to add a 336 in .35 Remington sometime in the future ...

I have only ever owned three and still have them.
1- model 25 22cal bolt clip fed
2- model 336CB 38-55 I just got about a month ago for $300.00 ANIB
3- model 39 DELUXE S prefix 3 digit serial # under 500 first year production 22 cal that was my dads first gun. Bought used in like new condition in 1936 for $10.00
He only ever shot it two times in his life.
Once in 1936 at a rabbit, one shot kill and decided he didn't like hunting, and again in 2006 when I was able to find and get it back from the man who had it for over 60 years.
Sadly it is only in about 40 to 50 percent condition now but she still shoots!
Hey, who cares it was my dads first and only gun and now it's back home to stay!!!

Might be late here,

but right now I have 3. Have an 1894 in 357 mag set up with a scout mount and 2 power scope, 38-55 CB with 2.5 power Weaver and a 1957 35Rem. that is my favorite!

Was using open sights, but need to see better so just put another K2.5 weaver on that one as well. Not sure if you count them or not

, but also have 14 Handirifles while owned by Marlin, and am waiting for the 30-30 to come in that I had ordered. As my 3 year-old says, "Daddy's Toys"

Sorry, forgot to add 3 I wish I still had.

Had a 336 in 44 Mag that I let go, the first 1894 in 357 I had and an early 1895 with ballard rifleing that had a cresent butt plate on it. Man, did that thing ever bring tears to your eyes!

Currently looking at a couple of older 30-30's, but haven't dropped the $ yet. Both are close to $400.00, but still under. Like to spend at local shops, but Wally World does have a new one for 329.95. $:-\$ Guess I better get off the pot and do something.

1962 - M336RC -.30-30-(Rebarreled with a pre microgroove M336 barrel. Shoots boolits great.
1972 - M1895 - .45-70 - New model -22" mgrv
1976 - M336(no suffics) - .35Rem
2003 - M1895G -.45-70- Ported

1 Rimfire bolt -M81c -.22RF

Am looking at another .30-30SC, if I can get the price right!

I have never been more please with a levergun in my life as I am with the performance of this Guide Gun in 45-70. Many talk about recoil, but I don't have to load my stuff wild, when mild still gets it done for anything that walks in North America. The Guide Gun was a find that was sitting on the gun rack at a local sporting goods store, marked as pre-owned for $399.00 which Tim Skinner said that I stole it for that price.

You will notice the Skinner Sight on the back, which I did not even have to replace the front sight at all. The padded shoulder strap gives great releaf in while packing into the woods. The cartridge belt was made for me by a friend many years ago. And the knife sheath was a pawn shop find for a steal of a price along with the knife which I changed out the handle to something more suiting of my taste.

I sold 3 of my 444 Marlins 2 of my 35 Remington's, 2 of my 30-30 and 2 of the 45-70's .

I have the required 336 in 30-30. Will they even sell you another Marlin if you don't have one of these.

I just bought a 1895 Cowboy 45-70 and it should be here within the week.

I would love to find 45LC and 357 in 24" Cowboy Limited at reasonable prices.

Just brought home the newest addition to the Marlin family.

A nice 444P with Williams peep and a globe front sight. Finally made up my mind on a 30-30 a couple of weeks ago, got an old one made in 1952, someone ruined the looks with cold blueing that ran,

so will have to get that taken care of, but shoots like a Marlin.

That makes 5 of the darlin's now. DP.
