A 336C in 35 Remington, has the 1970? gold seal I got for Christmas when I was 16. A 1895G 45-70 I just got today at a gun show. The 336C has been lightly used and dropped 200lb Florida hog using the 200 grain SP. I'd like to take the 45-70 up to Canada for Moose, Deer and Bear someday.

I'm not sure if I posted mine or not, but here goes...

I think I would like the contents of Halwg's gun safe :)

I've got two Marlins. One is an oldie - a .22 Model 81-DL. It has an odd scope on it, with an odd mount. It was a gift; guy bought it when he was a teen, he's near 80 now... probably dates to the early forties?

My deer rifle is a 336W in 30-30, obtained via a trade during 2006 season. I've added a Nikon 2-7x32mm scope to it.
I like it. Killed two spikes with it this week!
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Only have 4 right now. Had to sell a few good ones some years ago. Building up my stable of Marlins again.
Currently have an 1893 takedown in 25/36; a '93 carbine in 30/30; a 1949 336a, also in 30/30; and a '95  45/70
made in '78. Also trying to work a deal on a real nice '93sc in 32 special.

I have five, and need more!

1894 Cowboy .357 Magnum w/20" octagon barrel

1894S .41 Magnum

30TK rebarreled to 25-35, 24" barrel

Stainless 336XLR .30-30, returned to factory for straight grip conversion & walnut stocks

1895 .45-70, one of the first when it was reintroduced in the 1970s.

I would like to get one of the new .338 Express Marlins, as it should do anything a .348 will do and then some. A .218 Bee or .25-20 woudn't hurt my feelings either!  ;D

If it counts, I also have a straight grip Browning BLR in .30-06  ;) Gotta cover all my bases

Marlin 30AS 30/30
Marlin XS7 .308

Both are different animals, and I love them both.   ;D

I recently sold my Marlin 917V .17HMR.  I loved the gun, but the .17HMR didn't offer much more than my Ruger 10/22.  So I bought a Stevens 200 in .223.  I wish Marlin offered the XS7 in .223, but I love my Stevens.

First deer I shot, 23 years ago, was with a Marlin 336 .35Rem.  My nephew has it now, and has killed several deer with that rifle.
Winchester 100 .243; Marlin XS7 .308; Stevens 200 .223; Rossi 92 .45LC; Marlin 1894C .357M; Marlin 30AS .30-30; NEF Pardner Pump 12ga; Mossberg 500 Turkey 20ga; Winchester 1200 20ga; Savage Mark II F .22LR; Henry H001 .22LR; Marlin 60SB .22LR; Ruger 10/22 DSP .22LR; Remington Genesis .50 cal ML; Ruger Vaquero .45LC; Ruger Blackhawk .357M; Ruger SR9c 9mm; Ruger Single-Six .22LR; Browning Buck Mark Camper .22LR; Crosman Powermaster 760 .177; Crosman Storm XT .177; Mission X3

I bought my 1st last August `09 a 336/30-30 and just bought another two days ago, an 1895 in 45-70.
If I get another one it`ll be an 1894 in .45 Colt.
All these years I`ve been shooting a Win.88 and a 94 (308 & 30-30), I can`t believe I waited so long,.
I would`nt mind a .22

Looks to me like you were well armed before you ever bought your first Marlin? Congrats on your recent purchases.

I have a Model 1893 carbine in 30-30 that was in the junk pile at my late Brothers house, he had an up and coming collection of Winchesters and cowboy Items at the time of his passing.
The little Marlin looks to have spent a season or two in a cold wet place, Canada I suspect as Century Arms has thoughtfully stamped the company
stamp so familiar to those with imported milsurps,on the left receiver flat
right next to the deep pitting, The barrel was beyond hope ,as was the magazine assembly, and it had no stock or fore end.

I fitted a magazine and fore end from a 1969 vintage winchester model 94, after re barreling it with an as new Marlin 30 aw barrel also in 30WCF
The Winchester forend required a marlin barrel band to work.

I was in somewhat of a quandry as to what to do for a butt stock as
money is tight at the old home stead and is to be spent on the families needs, but when I get to trading the proceeds are mine, and I lucked into a rather nice .32 Marlin rifle that was sadly missing its bolt, lever and side plate,I was very happy that the rifle stock with its curved butt
plate and extremely pleasing walnut patina fit my 1893 like it grew there.
I am still fooling with it to get it to shoot to point of aim,and will have to get a front sight from a 30 aw or similar rifle.
                 But I like it.

Re: What kind of Marlins does everyone have?

Update on my MARLIN list:

I got rid of my 38-55 a while back.
My hunting buddy and best REAL FRIEND was with me when I bought it and kept bugging me about buying it.
I kept telling him I would whenever I found a WINCHESTER in that caliber.
To make a long story short, one evening I showed up at his place with a case.
I handed it to him and said open it.
He said yea I know, I was with you when you bought it, are you going to sell it to me?
I will give you $425.00 for it.
I told him it wasn't for sale, it was a gift to him from me.
Ever see a big bear of a mountain man go humble?
He couldn't believe it.
His last words that night were "IT AIN'T FOR SALE!"
Now for the good part.
Last SUNDAY we went to the CANDY SHOP and guess what I found, a NIB WINCHESTER LEGENDARY FRONTIERSMAN in 38-55.
My buddy got what he wanted and now I have what I wanted.
Funny how things work out!

From top to bottom.  1991 .35 Remington, 1983 .30-30 with soon to be swapped out Redfield 3-9X40, 1969 Glenfield 30 in .30-30 with Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5X32, 1980 .444 that was covered in paint when I got it.

And my 1895

1966 Marlin Glenfield model 30 in 30-30. Had the half tube magazine, but installed a full length tube on it. Darn good shooter, just wish we could deer hunt with them here in Ohio.
