trigger pull on new winchester 94
« on: February 04, 2008, 09:11:30 AM »
Got a brand new Winchester mod 94AE "Ranger" in 30-30. Within 100 yards it shoots like any bolt rifle I've had, pretty happy about that. But when I pull the trigger there is like an initial "click" before the trigger stops against the actual pull that releases the hammer.

Is this normal for newer 94's? Is it one of those "lawsuit"-results? I know of other rifles which has it as an additional "safety" mechanism... Anyway, it is kind of annoying, so if anyone has come across the same thing, do you have any tips on how to get rid of it?

deerhunter - I think that is built in and something you just need to learn to live with.  I just tested one of my 94 AEs and I hear the same 'click'.  Tha't just something we have to deal with.  Mikey.
