Hi, I just got a Vanguard Varmint Special in 22-250, It is a cool looking gun. I am going to the range in the next couple of days to shoot it. I would like to know if any of you guys have any special RECIPES you would like to share?? So far I have loaded 55 Grain Combined Tech Ballistic Tips with H4895 powder, and 50 Grain V-Max with the same powder, any luck with any of these combinations?? I need info FAST PLEASE!!! I also have a BSA Platinum 8-32x44mm, I was wondering if any body has any luck with this scope?? THANKS!!!!

not too long ago one of the scope-sellers was getting rid of their BSA lineup.    i don't recommend them.   ask some of the other guys on the bolt-rifle forum what they think, too.

for the .22-250 we've used some juggling of the seating depth to achieve very good accuracy in a model 700 adl syn'.   the powder was bulk wc-846 (patsreloading.com should have it, yet) ;  cci-250 primer ;  win' brass ; hornady 60 gr' spire point.     Very Accurate.      work up your own powder charge.    we did approx'  33.?   with our seating depth.    check the manual for proper seating depth of your bullet and work up the load with your bullet.

take care,

I also do not recommend that scope. I had a few BSA's and I have had some fail and some not. They are junk and you get what you pay for in optics no matter what.

I have found this to be very true...There are no "bargains" in optics...After years of trying to convince myself ...I only purchase Leupold Leica and Swarovski( Bino's) Anymore...Quality isnt expensive....Its Priceless...Drop

I like Stiner for Binos, Bushnell, Nikon and Leupold for scopes.

My 22-250 load is a 50 grain V-max with 36 grains of Varget and CCI 200 primers.
