The "World Health Organization" recommends a oral rehydration therapy that consists of one liter of clean water, one level teaspoon of table salt, and eight level teaspoons of sugar. Try mixing some unsweetened coolaid with this for flavor and you cant be to far off.

We get Gatorade in powder form in three pound containers at Sams Club or Costco. It's relatively cheap that way, and well worth it.

In the Army we make it with two of the unsweetened packs of Kool-Aid, a cup of sugar and 3-4 TBSPs of salt and a gallon of water.

1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid (lemonade works best, but I've tried just about all of them), 3/4 teaspoon salt, 1 2/3 cup sugar in 1 gallon of water. Given to me by a sports trainer. Been using it for years now.
