Looking for info on supercaliber chambers in m/l field guns

Here are the details and a picture, any info appreciated.  I've asked some antique cannon experts who have said they've read about over-bore-sized chambers being used in muzzle-loading field guns, so it wasn't just my imagination when I looked  down the bore with the trusty Maglite and saw one.:

BTW, for any Spanish-speakers, I need to know what "EL VEON," or maybe it reads "EL AVEON" the name of this cannon, translates to in English.  The middle of the neme is quite worn and I can't really tell whether there is an "A" in that space or if it is blank.

Sorry for the confusion, but the latest and greatest theory on the name of this piece is "EL BUEON."

The B was really faint and needed blacklight to bring it out.  The V is still there but recalling monument engraving back to Roman times, "V" is often substituted for "U" maybe because it is easier to engrave, with the straight lines?

There's a restaurant in L.A. by that name, so if I have to, I'll call and ask WTH it means.

 cannonmn, just going through some of my books, i ran across this picture from the 17th-century. I know it's not the gun you were looking for, i know it's not a supercaliber chamber. Well,now that i'm thinking about it, i guess it is bigger than the rest of the chamber,anyway......Two of your questions on the above link, was about the ideal for, and shape of the chamber. I don't know if this picture will help any at all. It shows a circular chamber, and writing that i can't make out. maybe you can read it and find an answer on who came up with the ideal, and possibly a clue about your supercaliber chamber??? the little bit of info next to the picture said: This circular chamber must have presented some problems in casting.

Thanks, yes there were mortars with oversize chambers, some spherical, some egg-shaped, some football-shaped. 

Some folks on the Napoleon Series board figured out the name after I put up some photos.  The name of the gun is "EL BUFON" which means "The Jester."  I like that name for a cannon!

You probably are aware of the references to powder chamber size/shape (including spherical) in the references related to the Tannenburg hand-gonne.  (Listed in the references sticky.) 

Cleaning must have been problematic.
