cannonmn, just going through some of my books, i ran across this picture from the 17th-century. I know it's not the gun you were looking for, i know it's not a supercaliber chamber. Well, now that i'm thinking about it, i guess it is bigger than the rest of the chamber,anyway......Two of your questions on the above link, was about the ideal for, and shape of the chamber. I don't know if this picture will help any at all. It shows a circular chamber, and writing that i can't make out. maybe you can read it and find an answer on who came up with the ideal, and possibly a clue about your supercaliber chamber??? the little bit of info next to the picture said: This circular chamber must have presented some problems in casting.
