Here's my results with my .308, for me they were too squirrely.
Barnes TSX 168gr BT, 42gr Varget = 3" @ 200yds
Nosler Ballistic SilverTip 168gr, 42gr Varget = 3/8" @ 200yds
Did you try and tweak the load with the TSX? My results were just the opposite with 180gn boattails of those exact two bullets, the TSX's shot better, that was over 53 grains of H414.
You can't use the same load for two different bullets. One load you worked up for one will be totally different for another. For the silvertips, I get good results with RL22, so I use that. And the TSX's like H414 better for me.... Even with their prefered powders, I still had better results with the TSX.
I had one three shot group with the 150 grain TSX's that you would have the be reaching to even call ragged at 150 yards, that was over 58 grns of H414.
