Go to the Gun Store to look at a Marlin .308 MX 22" Barrel. He has setting side by side. A new Marlin MX .308 and a Browning BLR .308 Win. Now the Marlin is brand new and he wants $475 for it and the BLR is a 1990 Short action steel receiver. Now we know how the Marlin looks and will perform. But the BLR looks like it has never been out of the box it is NRA Excellent or almost Perfect, I couldn't find any glitches in it. The BLR is a 20" barrel but is still a .308 Winchester so it is always going to outperform the MX.
The dealer wants $525 for it. Boy is my mouth salivating. Here is my dilemma I can get away with one but not two, which one do I pick? I always want a 308 Winchester but the prices were always so high so I resigned to get a Marlin but for $50 more I can get a beautiful Browning. I already have several Marlins so I am not without. I have a 45-70, 38-55, and a .375 Marlin. What do I do is the BLR worth the extra $50, he is holding it for me until I make up my mind by this weekend.
