4" redhawk barrel crown not cut straight

The barrel crown is not cut straight on my new 4" redhawk.I did not pay much attention at first but it is cut deeper at the top than on the bottom.So in other words the rifling's are going to let go of the bullet first on top and then later on the bottom.There is a very noticeable difference just with the naked eye. Gun shoots all over the place,I am talking 10+ inches at 25 yards with all different types of ammo.The wife has the camera but I will take pictures when I get a chance.Time to get ruger on the phone.

Just an update,I sent may pistol in to ruger a month ago and still no word so I called them 4 days ago. They had no record of my gun in there computer and somebody would call me back in a couple days.They called on friday and said they found my gun and it would be another week before it was done.It better be perfect or I am going to be pissed. Here is a pic of the barrel cut crooked.Notice how the barrel is cut deeper on top than on the bottom. I say there customer service still sucks like it always has omo.

Weird things are going on at Ruger. I sent a rifle back to their NH location in November and after calling in March it was repaired and returned.

  A TON more folks will take the other side and praise thier CS.  They're greatly known for it actually.  I'm sure they'll take care of any isues with your revovler.  Question though...upon it'sreturn if it doesn't shoot to your satisfaction is it still thier fault?  Not being a smart butt just curious as I've seen many a time a shooter blame the gun , the ammo the weather...everything but not consider the actual shooter.   Always have other known proficient shooter do a trial run to see.

 If the barrel is not fixed to my satisfaction I will sell it or send it back. I am proficient enough in my shooting to know if it is me or the gun. I think they had not touched the gun until I called almost a month later. I spent my hard earned money on there product and I want it to look and function like it should. I looked at 4 other redhawks all 4" at the last gun show and 3 out of the 4 had very sloppy cut crowns. One of them was worse than mine and I pointed it out to the dealer and he was going to send it back to ruger. I will     definitely think twice about buying ruger again because its not the first time I have been burned by them. Also the one lady that answers the phone at ruger needs to learn she will get a lot farther in life if she is not so rude and acts like I am annoying her.

 Ruger is at it again, I called them over a week ago and they said one more week. I called them today and was told it would be another week. Its starting to look like I will be buying S&W from now on. Past experience's and now being lied to is changing my mind on ruger.

Finally got it back, The crown looks better. Here is a list of things on the work order returned to me.
Barrel crown-repaired, should have been done right the first time
trigger-repaired,  nothing wrong with the old one
crane-repaired, nothing wrong with the old one
cylinder release button-repaired, again nothing wrong with the old one
internal component as needed-replaced, god only knows
pawl spring-replaced
button screw-replaced

I do not think those extra things needed to be done and I doubt they were, it just looks good on paper. So I am happy its finally home and I can work on some loads now.

  Seems like with this type of outlook/attitude someone is getting vback what they give.  Learned long ago and it's basically common sence to treat ppl with respect and politely.  It helps NOT to have an atitude and a temper when trying to resolve an issue.  As for the replaced parts which "weren't neccessary" perhaps upon closer inspection there were needs whcih required these pieces to be changed out.  Agfain, seemingly a negative attitude which again, gets ppl noplace but more worked up and frustrated.

I'm no Ruger fan by any means but generally speaking their customer service is top notch. You must remember they offer NO WARRANTY expressed or implied on their products so any and all work done by them on it is done purely as customer service and not as required under any type of warranty. They could just tell you to shove it and leave it at that. Of course if they did they'd not sell nearly so many as they do. Darn few folks come away dissatisfied with their customer service but many of us are unhappy with their products.

until our Lord calls me home, there are two firearms mfg' companies that i hope stay in business until the end of time:  Remington and Ruger.    i'll take the accuracy of the Remington and the reliability of the Ruger over all others.    and, i'll take the pricing i've gotten in the past, particularly for Remingtons, over so many others.     

i've had one Ruger in .44 mag' Bisley that didn't have smooth enough chambering.   on very heavy loads the brass sometimes took a little effort to extract.     it was, however, a powerhouse, and the most beautiful firearm i've ever held in my hands.

Remington's accuracy, and their easily-re-worked Model 700 triggers are all one needs to know in a rifle.    Ruger's metalwork in stainless steel is probably as good as it gets for a hunting firearm.

I've always been a Ruger fan but as much as I hate to admit it their quality control isn't what it used to be. The last Redhawk I ordered my dealer returned and got another for me because its of the first ones poor workmanship.

Its probably just as big a gamble with S&W, they last one of them I bought had to have the barrel replaced and it was a performance center. I thought that should have been custom done and thoroughly checked over. I bought a 500 Smith and after the 4th one found one worth keeping. The first one we opened up had the sights missing, right out of the box from S&W.

My son's friend picked up a Ruger 9mm auto real cheap.  It had been kept in a holster and had a fair amount of wear and pitting.  The seller told the buyer that the safety didn't work.  I told him to contact Ruger.  Turns out the gun was on a recall.  They sent him a shipper and returned the gun in much better shape than it was sent.  This on a gun he paid $50. for.  They either reblued or replaced the worn and pitted areas, as it looked like a new gun.  It did take over a month, but the price was impossible to beat.
