Rednecks? Hmmmm I got to meet a group of them whilst hunting Northern Missouri back in 2003. They pitched their tent next to ours and some of their stories were hair raising to say the least. Their disregard for the game and the laws was unbelievable. I saw one small Buck they "harvested" that was shot to pieces
it had been hit at least 7 times. The "hunter- and I use that term lightly
" told he later how he mowed it down reloading twice? he put his poor marksmanship down to the 3 Six packs he had drunk and whilst he was telling us about it round our fire he was drinking yet another beer. Luckily for us were were hunting on a private farm of 1100 acres so were fairly safe from them being several miles away from thier hunting preserve.
If we discount their lack of ethics on hunting they were not a bad bunch but not one I would like to hunt anywhere near. Sure we had the odd drink round the fire at night but not to the extent of getting tight or drunk. I think the most I saw anyone drink in our tent was 3 drinks in one night. It was explained to me on my arrival that no Bucks were to be shot unless their antlers were wider than their ears. This was their rule and I was a guest so I stuck to it. All four of us got chances of shooting qualifying Bucks but Stewart turned his up hoping for a better Buck which he did not find, both other brothers shot Bucks as did I, we also shot several Does and none fo the meat was wasted as it all found good deserving homes.
Edit:- As I said before I don't type very well and American spell check doesn't recognize quite a few English words!!!! when typing I find that my brain is not running the same speed as my fingers ..................... so I end with letters transposed and in the wrong order or I don't quite press the key hard enough and lose a letter here and there.
