Anyone ever seen a Model 12 buttstock like this?
« on: February 09, 2008, 04:28:13 PM »
I was given these recently.  Top is a standard M12.  Bottom is a premium walnut checkered buttstock made without a pistol grip.

What version of the Model 12 would the bottom stock have been made for?

Thanks!

Hobson's choice, name your poison.

The straight-grip stock could be a reworked, checkered, standard pistol-grip stock; or an older aftermarket stock, like a Fajen; or a Winchester Custom Shop option, which anyone ordering a Model 12 (or any Winchester) could once do.
