New Yamaha Owner
« on: February 10, 2008, 08:00:10 AM »
I pulled the trigger yesterday.  I bought a 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 Auto 4x4 camo edition yesterday.  This thing is squeeky clean with only 65 hours on it.  Its never seen the mud and slept in the garage since new.  All service was performed at the dealer and documented.  I paid $3300 for it.  I want to get one of the rear rack padded storage packs for it.  Any recommendations?

Keep a very close eye on your rear differential fluid.  Yamaha does not have the best protection for the rear diff's and they crack easy...... before you know it (actually ....you will not notice until it's too late) you will be out of fluid and grenade the rear diff.

Not trying to scare you just make you aware.  Congrats on the new wheeler.  Have fun!

Is there not a rear diff guard?  I've not seen a Yammy atv that left the rear diff unprotected.

with a few exceptions I find yamaha quads to be pretty bullet proof , if I were to start looking for a quad tomorrow the bruins would be on my list of possibles , anyhow koplin may make what you want , I personally do not like crap fixed to the rear rack when I ride for bail out reasons , I carry my constant supplies on the front rack and use the rear for temp stuff like deer , wood , beer , seems to be mostly beer , but what is a fella to

I bought a 2005 Bruin in 2006.  I think it is a great ATV and it will give you great service.  I bought an Allen ATV set for about $50.00.  It has a rear rack bag, fender bag, tank bag and handlebar mittens.  I just use the fender bag, rack bag and tank bag.  These are very durable.  I have not looked at others much but I like the way these stay adjusted when removing and reinstalling them.  Put some foam in the rear rack bag is the only thing I added.

Congrats on buying the Bruin, GOOD RIDING!!

Congrats on your new yamaha, I think you will be very happy with it. We have owned yamaha 4 wheelers for years and have been very happy with them.
