Encore Frame or Pro Encore Frame??? and other???
« on: February 10, 2008, 04:08:20 PM »
My friends wife bought him an encore pistol in 308 cal 1 year ago Christmas   I could not tell him if it was an encore frame or a pro hunter frame. He got a 270 cal barrel barrel and stock and I switched  it out for him to make it a rifle,. but I thought you could now shoot some rim fires with the right barrel.  When I made the change over from pistol to rifle I did not see a selector like I have on my G2.  I could  not tell him how to convert to rimfire barrels. I may not explain well hope you understand.

Appreciate all replies in   advance

Thanks Jim

The rimfire barrels for the encore have a bore that is offset.  The rim on the rimfire cartridge will line up so the firing pin will make contact in the correct spot and no selector is needed.

A pro Hunter also has a set screw in the top of hammer, you can have it normal ,turned left or right.
encore hammer is one position from factory but can be changed to pro hunter style.

Thompson/Center says to use forearm 7569 or 7571.  Here's a link http://www.tcarms.com/firearms/encoreAccessories.php
