I called H&R/NEF this morning in regards to the 22 Hornet. I was told by the service lady "it appears to be discontinued completely for 2008"
At first I thought that the plastic stock would remain............not so.
I asked if letters or e-mail were sent by those disappointed would this help? She replied "yes" and was kind enough to get me the correct e-mail for this task. UPDATE - SEND E-MAIL DIRECTLY TO H&R/NEF hr1871@hr1871.com
It is to the marketing department.
If you would like to see the 22 Hornet stay in the Handi rifle line up, please e-mail the followingI have drafted a rough letter to make it easy for you. Use it cafeteria style, delete what you do not want, then simply cut and paste the rest.
Thank you for your time

To whom it may concern,
I have been informed that the 22 Hornet Handi rifle (aka – Handi Hornet) has been discontinued for 2008 in both wood & plastic stock.
I was disappointed to hear this news.
As one whom enjoys the Handi Hornet and has recommended it to others I hope that this decision will be reversed ASAP.
Some of the reasons are as follows.
• The traditional varmint caliber
• Ideal walking/calling varmint caliber
• Fun to shoot
• Ideal for break action single shots
• Low muzzle blasts fits less wide open hunting terrain available today
• Less costly to re-load than purchasing rim fire magnum ammo
• I have to believe with fewer wide open spaces available to hunt and the rise in cost of rim magnum ammo, sales were good.
Please consider keeping it in the preferred standard wood stock for years to come.

EDITED: Bill, I just got an email from my H&R/Marlin contact, C. Heyl has nothing to do with H&R products, please send emails to H&R, Gordon will collect them and send them on to Marketing and Sales.
