Remington Model 721 30-06
« on: February 11, 2008, 12:11:04 PM »
I have an opportunity to buy this rifle that the owner says is in mint condition with no cracks/splits in wood, excellent bluing with a 24" barrel that has a mint bore. It also comes with Redfield mount and scope rings. I know of the 788 reputation but I know nothing about the Model 721. Is this a pretty good deal for $300.00? He said the rifle was made in 1957. Does this model have a good accuracy reputation?

Thanks for all input.

I have been around a couple of M721 rifles and they were good shooters.  I have the short action version of it in .300 Savage and it is a very good shooter.  (M722)  I have had a couple offers I my M722 by benchrest shooters who wanted the action.  They are a good strong action.

The $300.00 price is a very good deal now days.

This buck was taken in the 2007 season with baby brother M722

Thanks for the replies guys. I noticed he put it on gunbroker.com now. He lives about 25 miles from me. I haven't made up my mind yet but it's a nice looking rifle.

For $300 in that good of shape with base and rings,I'd buy it yesterday. In fact I'd take a 25 mile drive to check it out to be sure its as good as said, and if it was it would be coming home with me.
