Would not purchase a caliber I did not want.  Not cost effective.  The 260 if a great round.  Why change it?

It sounds like it could be a Commemorative Edition with a Stainless Steel Fluted Barrel, Engraved Receiver and Black Laminate Stock.  If it is, it probably is worth alot more to a Commemorative Collector if it was unfired and you had the box and all of the tags.  If it isn't a Commemorative, I would think that $500 is a little pricey for an oddball caliber that could tend to be expensive to shoot.

If it is in a gunshop, ask the owner how much a box of shells and reloading components would cost, and make your decision then.  Your chances of selling it for a profit depends on finding the right buyer, as always.   Finding a buyer for more than $500 could be hard.

Your best bet is to buy it for alot closer to $400, and only if you have a need for a .260, and want to use it.

I would love to have a 260 for $500.00. That is one flat shooting round great for deer to. Dale
