Long Day Yesterday
« on: February 13, 2008, 03:37:43 AM »
My wife Megan woke up with a pain in her side yesterday morning.
After only 12 hours at the hospital I brought her home without her appendix.
She is doing very well and has some painkillers to help.
Her only real restriction is lifting. She can't hold our 30# son for two weeks.

Please keep her in your prayers.

Sounds like a case of "Mr. Mom" to me...    ;D

Then I had to stay home Thursday (today's yesterday) with the sick boy.
I will spare you the details. Let's just say we used A LOT of diapers.

"Mr. Mom" sound about right.
It's been a long time since I saw that one.

Happy to hear your wife will be fine. Just keep telling yourself only 2 weeks and you will get through it fine. Good luck to you and take care. Dale

Good to hear she is doing well. Let her know we are thinking of her. Mr Mom will be busy for awhile!

Partsman. I have to say when I see that picture of you and your son it makes me feel good. Enjoy it now and make sure you have a great realationship through out his younger years. It has been many years since my daughter was that young. She is almost a teenager now and she can be mouthy and down right vindictive. My daughter is a real good girl and has never been in any trouble but she sure is testing us now!!!!!!!!!!! My neighbor that has raised three girls says this is a stage they go through. He calls it the hell years. He has said that between the ages of 12 and 19 are the hardest. Dale Boy I am not looking forward to the next 7 years. Dale

Yes Dale, teenage girls are one of the scariest animals on earth.

It has been a week now and she is feeling much better,
but is ready to hold her baby.
Jake (our son) is also wondering why mommy won't hold him.

Her surgeon made it very clear though.

Partsman:  I'm very glad your wife is doing well.  I'm sure that was a scary moment for a while. Few things are worse than seeing a loved one hurting.  Hang in there, Bud.  You always have your friends here at GB's if it ever feels like you have your back against the wall.

Please forward my well wishes to your wife.

I'll say a prayer for your family tonight.

 :)

Glad to hear the good news PartsMan. Back in the sixties my appendix ruptured, and I almost died. I thought it was an injury as a horse I was working had rolled over me the day before. It is not something to be messed with.
