Wow.......
Want to see how fast you can reload a Handi rifle with ejectors or even a Pardner shotgun?
Try the Hasty sling position with a butt stock shell holder. Your trigger hand will be completely free as the stock is held into the shoulder from the Hast sling position. Try practicing it. With sling in Hasty, aim,dry fire, rotate gun receiver to 1 or 2 O'clock (right handers), hit the "handi" located break lever, eject over shoulder............your trigger hand is completely free to take cartrige from shell holder and load.............lock up........done.
I compared this to some of my bolt action repeaters and was amazed...........it's nearly as fast! The key is in Hasty or 3 point if you want ........the stock does not drop slightly from the shoulder......it sticks......droping can cause fumbling........this does not. Droping causes re-mounting.....this does not. Last, I was shocked in testing my re-target acquisition
. Your elbow is locked, the gun locked into the shoulder and when you rotate the rifle back to 12:00 o'clock the target is right there! The break lever NEF uses that some complain about and wish it was more like a double barrel shotgun lever...........is perfect for this with the Hasty.......much better.
On top of this, studying the mechanics of twisting stocks spoke of with the Hasty on some rifle stocks the Handi may be ideal at least with laminate and maybe even wood if it's free floated from the stud forward and the sling studs are used. Sorry, got to believe the plastic stock will flex .
Here is why this stock appears to not flex from pressure in Hasty. The forearm stud may actually help as compared to a bolt action wood stock. It won't allow it to flex past that. If its floated in front of it........"well'a". No stress movement from Hasty. The other complaint that can happen from Hasty on one piece wood stock bolt actions is "bow" from forearm to but which the 3 point / 1907 sling removes but takes time to engage into. The two pc Handi stock actually seems to my eye to prevent this..........it can't bow!
Last with its meaty profile, weight yet, short length.........it really balances well between the hands for position shooting.
Personally, except when shooting from sticks. I will now quickly wrap into the Hasty for all position shooting/hunting for now on. 40% accuracy gain from Hasty (military quote), ultra fast reload & target reacquisition....none of the common "cons" this position can bring on 1 pc. wood stocks if set up right as described above......wow! May have to do some pics or a video of this to show.
BTW- While I own 1907 slings "The Best" sling for the Hasty I jave found to date is "The Claw" sling preferably the "contour claw"......but either work fine.
