In the last 4-5 years I have bought approx. 25 or 30 handi rifles and I refuse to pay over $100 for one, with the exception I gave a fellow an extra $25 for gas to deliver a nib rocky mtn. .35 Whelen, because he lived 30 miles away.
I see no point turning any $100 rifle into a $170 rifle by replacing parts that have no problems to begin with.

well shoot!   :o  sell me one for a hundred and fifty!  We'll split the shipping!  You'll make a 50% ($50) profit and I'll save (at least) $50!   ;D  Mine doesn't have to be New in Box, BTW...  :-\

Suitable materials would be stainless-steel, blued or in the white, and brass.  No aluminum for me thanks.
Would pay no more than $75.00.  Fit , as well as finish is extremely important.

I know for sure that I would buy a couple sets at least. Brass first followed by blue steel. Man wouldn't a set in color case look good on my classic carbine. Talley is a good company, makes a good product, and charges a fair price. I recon I would pay what they ask if they make a set I like. Fishbiscuit

I'll take two as long as they aren't plastic or pot metal.  Prefer brass or blued steel.

I got an update from Gary, they intend on starting work on them in the next two weeks or so as their new tactical ring project finishes up and frees up the machines.  ;D

My brother just bought a buffalo classic, and is very interested in a set in brass.

Tim, do these need to be pre-ordered?  Any idea how the order process will work?  He definitely wants in line :)

Brass for the BC and CR, Blued for the rest.  Would probably buy at least one brass set at $70.00.  Would consider two or three sets of blued (not all at once most likely) at $40-50.  Understand there are costs involved in the making, but the more sold should be able to keep the price down some.  Maybe.

Sure hope it wasn't you bidding on it Al, 'cause I just bought that spacer using "Buy It Now". It isn't a Moyers, that is for sure, but I don't exactly know who is making it.

Will give more details when it arrives. I am buying a second one as well, for my other Handi!

There was some guy who joined up here a good while back and made noises about wanting to know the level of interest in them as if he might either make them or contract to make them thru some other vendor. He wanted to solicit for business here without becoming an advertiser and I cut him short on it. I told him he should be able to get all the info he needed on the potential market from this thread and that since Talley is a paying sponsor and he wasn't that he couldn't solicit to see what the market was. I think he disappeared but am not really sure who he was or if he still is around. I suppose that could be what these new ones are but in a way I kinda doubt it. They probably just some from Moyer's perhaps reworked a bit by someone.

Graybeard, abixler,

You both may well be right, but I have been in contact with the fellow making the spacers since I bought it from Gunbroker. It appears he is making these himself. He is in Altoona Pa, and Moyers is in Idaho.

He (or maybe a sub-contractor?) is using a CNC to turn these out from bar stock, and the Moyers parts are castings, so I don't think these are cast parts he is finishing. He also claims to have trigger guards almost ready to go, again using CNC in either steel or brass.

Now I am not trying to take ANYTHING away from Talley, nor to upset anyone here. I don't know if this is the fellow of whom Graybeard writes or not. All i know is that I ordered the parts, I expect some soon, and will give a complete report once I have steel in hand. Time will tell, perhaps we will have two sources of parts to choose from. The price is certainly reasonable, he is giving me three steel spacers for 45 bucks shipped. Again, time will tell if the quality and fit is there.

LOL yes that was me but I'd only bid the starting amount mostly out of curiosity.  I really want brass.  The pics definatly do not look like cast parts unless cast and then machined.

I emailed the seller this morning asking a lot of nosy questions. Specifically if these were CNC machined from castings or bar stock. I also asked if there was any affiliation with Moyers in any way, and if he was doing the machine work or a sub-contractor.

Also have the three spacers coming so we shall see.........

Well, the spacers should hopefully be here by the end of next week so I can give an assesment, but in the meanwhile here are the answers to several of my questions to the seller........

"But to answer your questions the spacer is cut CNC from solid bar stock,my son is an excellent mechanist and is doing the work and programming. He is doing this in his spare time after hours at the shop he works at. The spacer was easy for him to do,but the trigger guard is going to take some time to do.
His company is very busy right now with lots of government contacts, which is good but he putting in 12 + hours a day, which is not leaving him time to work on my stuff.

Do not know about the Moyer casting.    Thanks Tom"

Sounds as though the trigger guards could very possibly be problematic, but there are spacers available. This fellow is a Buffalo Classic fan and owns several by his own admisson, including a version called the Golden Buffalo. Lets hope for the best as the price (if it holds) is pretty darn outstanding.

Interesting.  Maybe someone should contact him about directly advertising here on the forum.  I'd sure like Tim's studied opinion though.   :-\  Not that I don't value yours Otony!   :D  I wonder if he would provide a test sample?

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high on this guys!

I used to work in a brass foundry, and my brother still runs one, and I also worked in a machine shop, and granted this was a few years back, and manufacturing techniques have come a long way, but unless these people have developed a sure fire way to mass produce, and turn out a quality polished product, as you guys would expect, I don't see how they could do it for what everyone is willing to pay for them.

It would take a pretty big investment just to set up, and then you couldn't expect to make it up for quite some time on just sales from just regular customers like you and I, and then without supplying them to the factory as well, you see what I'm saying?

Small scale, labor intensive, turn out one at a time, and he only gets limited time to work on them,......Well again, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high, because he can't be making much on this to make it worth his while for the long haul!

Talley is willing to go that extra mile and supply them, and plus they are willing to advertise here for your business, so I would tend to trust their track record.

Sorry to sound nagative, and I could be completely wrong, but I'm just giving an opinion speaking from some experience trying to do similar things in the past, and just to kind of give you guys a heads up.
