Need reduced load info for 300 Weatherby
« on: February 14, 2008, 09:34:05 AM »
A friend bought the dies and I have all the other components to load  300 Weatherby what I'm looking for is safe loading data to load it down to approximately 308 Win. velocity with 150 gr. bullets. He wants something around the 2800 to 2900 FPS . Any help would be appreciated.     Thanks,   Jed

I've used a SUPER slow pulldown powder IMR 5010 originally used for 50bmg and 20mm cannon shells in various cartridges including 300 wby. My 300wby load data pretty much is a case full + bullet = 2750 FPS

Thanks,  Krochus I have some Accurate 8700 thats pretty slow I went to there loading data and they list using 8700 powder from 83.7 to 93 grs. (full case ) for a velocity of 2600 - 2950 fps.  My friend wants me to load him some with the Nosler 150 BT to try ? I'll have to see if it will shoot accurate out of his Vanguard rifle.   Jed
