« on: February 14, 2008, 04:33:07 PM »
Its an Iver Johnson 9 shot 22 with a 6" barrel.  N28264 Serial Number.  I don't have a camera or I'd post pics. Any help would be appreciated .

From your description, I'd say you had an Iver Johnson 9 shot .22 caliber revolver with a 6" barrel!

Sorry, I kept waiting for someone else to say that  ;D :D. Just couldn't stand it any longer!!!!! ;D

Sorry for the confusion guys I was wondering if anyone knows the value of this handgun. It has replacement wood grips ( cheap), double action 8 shot.

Are there any markings on the sides of the barrel, a name like Super Shot or similar?

How do you load the gun?  Does it break open or do you have to remove the cylinder?

Is the rear sight adjustable?

No markings left, rear sight is just a groove ( none adjustable ) and its loaded through a small loading gate

One thing I'd suggest is that you visit some sites like Gunsamerica or Gunbroker, etc and look under Iver Johnson pistols and see if you can find something that looks like what you have.  You might also get an idea of how much they are selling for these days.

Iver Johnson made many styles of inexpensive, plinking revolvers.  While handy and dependable guns, they have little collector value and low resale.  They were always considered as tackle box guns; something that was handy when needed but of little value if you accidentally knocked it overboard.  Probably $50, $75 max.  For that price you should keep it and enjoy it.  44 Man
